- Content marketing
About the role
Founded in London in 2010, Mediablaze pioneered content marketing in the UK. Over the last 11 years we have evolved into a complete Digital Experience agency. We offer content creation and marketing, strategic consulting and digital product design and build, all with one aim in mind; to create deeper connections between people and the brands we work with.
The role we are looking to fill is first and foremost that of a Senior Writer who is comfortable writing across a range of clients for all digital and social channels as well as press releases, case studies, copy for apps and other digital products, and thought pieces and marketing trend pieces for Mediablaze’s own channels. Our client list is diverse and would particularly suit a lifestyle generalist with health and beauty experience being a plus. There will also be opportunity to contribute to brand building projects and the strategic thinking that brings those brands closer to their intended audiences.
It is a great opportunity to work with a diversely talented, creative and friendly group of people on an exciting, interesting and growing list of clients.
What it's like to work here
You’ll be working in the Content and Creative team but collaboration with other disciplines within the agency is a key part of how we work at Mediablaze. The fact that we have content, strategy and product teams under one roof - and that we actively encourage them to work as closely together as possible - is what we believe makes Mediablaze unique.
We are also big believers in openness, left-field thinking and plenty of curiosity and healthy debate from all Mediablazers, be they the most junior or the most senior. Wherever possible we also encourage face to face time with clients to really make Mediablaze part of their team too, as opposed to just another supplier.
Away from the work, we have a brilliant social team who have managed to keep the agency’s cultural flame burning bright despite a global pandemic and an active social responsibility team supporting initiatives around sustainability, diversity and health and wellbeing.
Our lovely open plan office near the lively South Bank in London is also currently open on a voluntary basis while we keep an eye on developments that will dictate what a return to work eventually looks like.
You have a way with words, be it writing an article, telling a product story, bringing a brand to life or presenting an idea.
You’re experienced enough and have the attention to detail it takes to manage, edit and improve the work of others when needed.
You have a real understanding of content creation and how it works in different digital channels
You are strategically-minded and able to see how your work builds a bigger picture for a brand.
You’re completely comfortable presenting and selling-in work, to both teammates and clients.
You’re a self starter and not scared to take the initiative.
Experience you'll need
As a Senior Writer at Mediablaze, you will have...
Experience of writing for a broad range of clients across a number of sectors. Experience on lifestyle brands - in particular health and beauty- would be a definite plus.
The ability to think at a broader conceptual level, conceiving big ideas and themes that give content programmes real insight and impact.
Experience sourcing and managing freelance writing resource as and when specific projects require it. A good contact list of trusted freelancers would help too.
A great understanding of different digital channels and how to write effectively for them.
What we're offering and your wellbeing
Our office is at The Print Rooms, 164/180 Union Street, London SE1 0LH. Mediablazers currently come in to attend essential client meetings and when team sessions are deemed necessary. The office is also open for those who choose to take a break every now and then from working from home.
Our standard working hours (9.30am to 5.30pm) are staggered slightly to take the edge off the busiest commuting times.
Our flexi-time policy covers the hours 4pm-5.30pm which enables you to move that time to earlier or later in the day, or another day that week (subject to meetings and agreed deliverables).
25 days per annum, plus an additional day for each completed year with the agency (capped at 28 days in total).
You don’t work your birthday. That’s another day in the bag which could take your total annual leave to 29 days.
We have a company Ride to Work Scheme with an annual pot assigned. It's healthy enough for even seasoned cycling aficionados (of which we have a few already).
Home Set Up:
Home Office Equipment Scheme (same principle as Ride to Work) to enable you to create a comfortable and safe home working environment.
Standard company pension which is easily moved around should you wish.
